Make Sure There Is a Talented and Dedicated Teacher in Every Classroom
Audrey Sirota, a researcher and trainer at the University of California, Santa Cruz, is using Teaching Alive!-a professional development CD Rom-to train teachers at the Starlight Elementary School in Watsonville on five standards for effective teaching of at-risk K-8 students. Produced by the Center for Research on Education, Diversity and Excellence (CREDE), the CD rom allows teachers to explore the standards and helps them develop future classroom activities.
