New Book Helps School Leaders Promote Diversity

August, 2002

Corwin Press has just released the book, Leading for Diversity: How School Leaders Promote Positive Interethnic Relations. The book is co-authored by Rosemary Henze, Anne Katz, Edmundo Norte, Susan E. Sather, and Ernest Walker, and was produced through the CREDE Project, "Leading for Diversity: Professional Development for School Leaders." The book presents examples of educators who have fostered school environments where positive interethnic relations can flourish. Along with offering real-life examples, the book provides strategies for readers to develop their own leadership abilities, assess their own institutional structures in light of supporting or constraining interethnic relations, develop a vision for interactions in their own schools, and create, implement, and assess plans for promoting positive interethnic relations.
