What works to promote reading achievement with ESL and non-ESL students?
How can teaching practices keep pace with the growing diversity
of today's students? And how can schools apply research data to
improve K-3 teaching and learning? The national Center for Research
on Education, Diversity & Excellence (CREDE) is hosting institutes
to provide instructional leaders with research-based answers to
these questions and access to strategies that work to create high-performing
K-3 learning environments.
These two-and-a-half-day sessions will focus on practical strategies, assisting participants in creating high-performing learning environments for all students, but particularly students from culturally and ethnically diverse groups.
The sessions are based on CREDE principles, known as the Five Standards for Effective Pedagogy. These principals draw from decades of investigation by CREDE researchers nationwide and are now being taught and applied in teacher education programs and classrooms with diverse learners around the country with clear positive results. Join us to learn why these approaches work and how to apply them in your schools.
