Noni Reis — San Jose State University Professor of Education Administration

Noni Mendoza Reis is a professor in the Educational Leadership Department at San Jose State University. Dr. Reis has worked in education for more than 25 years as a classroom teacher, mentor and school principal. While in the latter role, Dr. Reis led her school to several awards for implementing a model professional development program from the U.S. Department of Education and the California School Boards Association. Under Dr. Reis' leadership, this school was also recognized by the Office of Civil Rights for its professional development focus on equity and social justice. She holds a doctorate from the University of La Verne in Educational Leadership. Her doctoral research was on effective professional development strategies to help teachers implement culturally relevant pedagogy into their classroom practice. Dr. Reis has extensive experience in professional development as a national presenter in the areas of multicultural education, CREDE standards, coaching and leadership.
