The directory profiles 115 middle and high school newcomer programs in 29 states and the District of Columbia. These programs serve recent immigrant students with little or no English proficiency and often with limited formal schooling experience. This directory was the first resource to provide a comprehensive listing of secondary newcomer programs across the United States. Each profile contains information on program location, size, and length of enrollment; student demographics; features of instruction and assessment; program staffing; other services offered; and program contacts.
